Lena J. Salvato, 93, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2015 in Houston, Texas. She was born on August 19, 1921 in Highbank, Texas to Leon and Mary Ponzio Beniretto.

Lena had many hobbies some of which included gardening, cooking, baking but most importantly taking care of her grandchildren. She was a member of the Altar and Miraculous Medal Societies.

Lena was preceded in death by her parents; her brother; her four sisters; and her loving husband, Carlo F. Salvato. She is survived by her son, Frank Salvato and wife Kay; her daughter, Phyllis Dimicelli and husband Luke; her grandchildren, Gina Guzzetta and husband Trey, Michelle Russo and husband Jeff, Carl Salvato and Cara McKee and husband Patrick; her great-grandchildren, Carlie, Samantha, Sophia, Hailey, Carter, Alyssa and Dominic; and numerous other loving relatives and friends.

Visitation with the family will be held from 5pm until 8pm on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 in the chapel of Brookside Champions, 3410 FM 1960 West, Houston, Texas 77068, with a Rosary to be recited at 7pm. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 1:30pm on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 in the Warren Chapel of St. Dominic Village, 2401 Holcombe Boulevard, Houston, Texas 77021, Most Reverend Vincent M. Rizzotto, Celebrant. Rite of Committal will immediately follow in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
