Douglas was born in Houston, Texas on August 6, 1981 to Donald and Elenor Riles. He is the youngest of his siblings, Elenor "Pooh", Donald "Yogi", and Malcolm. Because of his dad's career the family lived in Palestine and Waco Texas and then later returned to Houston.
Doug was baptized at age 10 at Scenic Woods Church of Christ. He started at an early age loving others and always being kind to neighbors. Any neighborhood that he stayed always new of the helpful and polite little boy that lived down the street. He was quick to give his last and even the shirt off his back if someone was to need it.
He graduated from Westfield High School. He loved playing football in his younger days, but since he was so much smaller than the other boys in little league years Momma would tell him to run the other way and not let those big boys crush him.
Douglas started a lawn care business at the age 17 with his parents and later became the co-owner of Riles & Son's Lawn Care Service. He had customers that would only want him to handle their lawn care needs and no one could edge walking backwards like Dougie. He never meet a person he didn't like, so every person enjoyed seeing and talking to him.
He loved playing dominoes and cards with his family and friends. As a younger boy he would ride his bike from sun up to sun down. As he got older he loved to cook and nobody can chop up vegetables for pico-restaurant style like Douglas. Douglas had two nieces Elenor aka Lexi and Ariya who he loved joking and teasing with. He took something that his Grandmother would always say and started asking them, "Give me some news I can use". The girls would tell him Uncle Doug you know I don't have no new news. He would burst out laughing and start talking about something else.

He has touched the lives of many people with his warm smile, generosity, and his wonderful sense of humor. On Wednesday 20, 2017, Douglas passed from this life to a better life. He would always say "You will be alright" and now he is telling us that he took his advice and now he will be alright. He leaves behind his father, Donald Riles Sr., his mother, Elenor Riles, his siblings Elenor Jr., Donald Jr., and Malcolm, nieces, Elenor Alexis and Ariya, brother in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
